Water Watch Back in Action!
June 3, 2009

There has been a committed group of community activists from the Canadian Federation of Students, The Council of Canadians, The Polaris Institute, Development and Peace, The Winnipeg Labour Council and CUPE meeting together the last few months.  At their recent May meeting they re-formed the Winnipeg Water Watch Committee.  Some of their latest activities  include:

  • Public Water Forum at the Mellinium Library with Tony Clarke (Polaris Institute) as a guest speaker
  • Toast to Public Water event at City Hall
  • Presentations to City Council
  • Water Event at St. Marys Academy
  • Public Viewing of the movie “FLOW”

There will be a free training session on Public Speaking and Lobbying to better equip community activists enabling them to raise important community issues like water with civic politicians and within their communities.
The Sessions are sponsored by WINNIPEG WATER WATCH and lunch will be provided for all in attendance.
