Committees

Pediatric Oncology

This Committee promotes and coordinates fundraising for Pediatric Oncology at CUPE events.

Aboriginal Council

The Aboriginal Council encourages the participation of Aboriginal workers in the Union. It is a forum for discussing issues facing Aboriginal Manitobans.

Global Justice

The Global Justice works to develope awareness and promote the importance of building International links in the Labour movement.

Human Rights Committee

This Committee works toward acheiving equality and fairness in the workplace, the Union and Society at large.

Education Committee

The Education Committee provides input and assists in the content and scheduling of education courses provided by CUPE Manitoba.

Health and Safety

Holds practical education sessions for members on workplace Health & Safety issues. For example, it provides training on how to make workplace H&S committees function. Members monitor changes to provincial legislation and work with the CUPE Manitoba Executive to lobby the Government for improvements in H&S laws. As well, the committee works with CUPE's National Health & Safety

Young Members Committee

This committee is for any member under the age of 35. It is focused on getting the next generation of Activists involved in their Local and engaged as a Union activist.

Social Services and Child Care Sector

This committee is comprised of members from locals within these sectors. The committee works to coordinate common bargaining strategies as well as to share information.

School Division Sector

The School Division Sector meets to determine common bargaining objectives for school division locals and keeps up-to-date on bargaining information from other CUPE education sector workplaces in different provinces. It holds an annual Sector Conference usually in October.
